Multicomp Set to Analyse Multi-Material Composites for Lightweight Structures
Multicomp will take place on 14th and 15th June in Nottingham, UK, and is set to evaluate multi-material composites for lightweight structures, paying attention to design, assembly and joining.
With fantastic speakers already lined-up, including 3M, Formaplex and Hexel, Multicomp is set to showcase the latest developments in hybrid composite solutions within high value sectors such as automotive, aerospace, marine, rail and energy.
The optimum balance of performance and cost is obtained through the use of multi-material assemblies of composites, metals and polymers. Hybrid material structures that exploit the principle of using ‘the right material in the right place’ provide new design opportunities, and are often a stepping stone to the more widespread adoption of high performance materials such as composites.
Improvements to cost, weight and vibrations can be achieved through the use of multi-materials ensuring end-users can meet their design goals, whilst still meeting performance and manufacturing targets.
Chris Hare, Research and Technology Manager at NetComposites said, “Composites have established benefits for many applications and now the challenge is to take them to the next level by combining them more intelligently. We are excited by the potential of combining different composites together and by combining composites with other non-reinforced materials to make exciting multi-materials for the future.”
Registrations are now being taken and there are a number of exhibition and sponsorship packages available.
